Performance psychology for professionals

Performance Psychology for Business Professionals

The skills that help athletes perform under pressure work in the boardroom, the operating room, and the field. Learn to stay composed, focused, and confident when the stakes are high.

At a glance

  • For executives, entrepreneurs, managers, first responders, medical professionals, and anyone in a high-pressure job.
  • Pressure, presentations, imposter syndrome, perfectionism, and burnout.
  • Individual sessions, team sessions, and workshops for organizations.
  • In person in Arvada or online. Self-pay; ask the office about team and organizational rates.

What professionals work on

  • Staying composed under pressure and in high-stakes meetings
  • Public speaking and presentation nerves
  • Imposter syndrome and self-doubt
  • Perfectionism and decision paralysis
  • Focus, priorities, and recovering from setbacks
  • Preventing and recovering from burnout
  • Leadership, communication, and team dynamics
  • Sustaining performance without sacrificing well-being

How sessions work

Sessions are practical. You'll learn how your mind and body respond under pressure, then build and practice specific skills, such as routines before high-stakes moments, attention and refocusing strategies, energy management, and ways to recover between demands. The goal is consistent performance that doesn't cost you your health or relationships.

EMDR and NuCalm

When a high-stakes failure, a public mistake, or a difficult work experience keeps triggering self-doubt, EMDR helps your brain reprocess it, so you can lead and present with confidence again. NuCalm sessions help you recover from sustained pressure, support sleep, and work back from burnout.

For teams and organizations

Workshops and team sessions are designed around your organization's goals, with topics like stress management, burnout prevention, leadership development, communication, and building a culture that supports both performance and well-being. Call the office at (720) 446-9438 to ask about team and organizational rates.

Questions from professionals

Do you work with business professionals?
Yes. The same mental skills that help athletes perform under pressure apply to executives, entrepreneurs, first responders, medical professionals, and anyone in a high-performance or high-stress job. Common goals include managing work stress, preventing burnout, building confidence, decision-making under pressure, leadership, and public speaking.
Is this the same as executive coaching?
It overlaps, but performance psychology is grounded in sport and performance research on how people perform under pressure. Sessions focus on practical mental skills, like composure, focus, confidence, and recovery, that you practice and use at work.
Do you work with first responders and medical professionals?
Yes. People in high-stress roles benefit from the same skills athletes use under pressure. Our team includes clinicians with experience supporting first responders.
Can you help with burnout?
Yes. Burnout is common among athletes, performers, and professionals in high-pressure or high-stress roles. Sessions can address the exhaustion, cynicism, and loss of motivation that come with sustained pressure, and help you rebuild energy, boundaries, and enjoyment in what you do. If burnout overlaps with depression, anxiety, or other mental health concerns, clinical services can be arranged separately.
Do you work with teams and organizations?
Yes. Group sessions and workshops are designed around the goals of each team, business, or organization. Please contact the office to inquire about team and organizational rates and workshops.
Is sport and performance psychology covered by insurance?
No. Insurance plans cover services they consider medically necessary, which generally means treatment for a diagnosable mental health condition. Performance work focuses on building mental skills, not treating a condition, so performance sessions are offered on a self-pay basis.
