Autism Testing for Children, Adolescents, and Adults
Autism testing helps determine whether an individual meets criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or related social communication conditions. Testing can help clarify diagnosis and provide recommendations for educational supports, therapy, or social-communication interventions.
At a glance
- Testing is almost always in person. Remote testing is limited and considered case by case.
- Testing for individuals 8 years and older, including adults who were never evaluated as children.
- No referral is required.
- Results are reviewed in a 60-minute feedback session with a written report and recommendations.

Why people go undiagnosed
Many people still associate autism with children, boys, or cases where someone is nonverbal, which has led many individuals, especially women and nonbinary people, to be overlooked. Many autistic adults have also unconsciously learned to mask their traits to fit in socially or succeed at work, which can delay recognition.
After testing
If you are diagnosed with autism, the next step is exploring support strategies, self-acceptance, and accommodations that can help improve quality of life. Some adults seek therapy, workplace accommodations, or community support groups. Others simply feel validated knowing why they have always felt different.
