Anxiety and depression

Therapy for Anxiety and Depression

Constant worry, a racing mind, or a heaviness that won't lift can wear down every part of life. Therapy helps you understand what's driving it and gives you skills that work.

At a glance

  • Therapy for anxiety, panic, worry, and depression, for teens and adults.
  • Evidence-based approaches, including CBT, ACT, and DBT skills.
  • In person in Arvada or online in Colorado.
  • Dr. Walker and Kaela Little accept insurance; Allie Don Sing is out of network. See Insurance and Fees.

What anxiety and depression can feel like

  • Worry that's hard to turn off, especially at night
  • Panic attacks, a racing heart, or tightness in your chest
  • Avoiding situations, calls, or decisions because they feel like too much
  • Feeling flat, tired, or uninterested in things you used to enjoy
  • Harsh self-criticism, guilt, or feeling like a burden
  • Trouble sleeping, concentrating, or getting started

Anxiety and depression often show up together, and they can look different for everyone. Some people seem fine to the outside world while working very hard just to keep up.

How therapy helps

Therapy starts with understanding: what sets your anxiety or low mood off, what keeps it going, and what has helped before. From there, your therapist teaches practical skills, such as calming your body, catching and changing unhelpful thinking patterns, facing what you have been avoiding in manageable steps, and rebuilding routines that support your mood. Our approach also makes room for identity, relationships, stress, and life transitions, because they all affect how you feel.

Our therapists

Dr. Ricki Walker, Allie Don Sing, and Kaela Little all work with anxiety and depression. When you submit a therapy inquiry, the office will help match you with the right clinician based on your concerns, schedule, and insurance.

Anxiety and depression questions

How do I know if it is anxiety or just stress?
Stress usually eases when the pressure passes. Anxiety tends to stick around, shows up even when things are fine, and starts shaping your choices, like avoiding situations, overpreparing, or not sleeping. If worry or low mood is getting in the way of your life, it is worth talking to someone.
What kind of therapy do you use for anxiety and depression?
Our clinicians use evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills, and mindfulness, matched to you and your goals.
Can anxiety or depression look like ADHD?
Yes. Trouble concentrating, restlessness, and low motivation can come from anxiety, depression, ADHD, or several at once. If it is unclear, psychological testing can sort out what is going on. Read about overlapping symptoms.
Do you prescribe medication?
No. Our clinicians do not prescribe. If medication might help, we can coordinate with your doctor or psychiatrist. See our preferred prescribing providers.
Can I use insurance for therapy?
Coverage depends on your clinician, plan, and benefits. Dr. Walker and Kaela Little accept insurance, with different in-network plans. Please review Insurance and Fees and confirm your benefits before a session.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes. Therapy is available in person in Arvada or online for clients in Colorado. Dr. Walker is a PSYPACT provider, so online care with her may also be available in participating PSYPACT states.
